One Mile Challenge 2025
Our annual One Mile Challenge is simple but impactful: walk, run, or roll one mile each day of September.
OMC is a virtual event, and you will self-monitor your progress. Make your mile happen wherever you are or want to go —city streets, country roads, trails, tracks, treadmills, or in laps around your home — at sunrise, sunset, lunch breaks, or whenever works for you.
Why We Walk: Our guardians — military, veterans, and first responders — are exposed to mental & physical trauma & stress. Mental illness and suicide are disproportionately high among our guardians in comparison to the general population. Mental health awareness, treatment, and access for guardians are made even more difficult by personal, professional, and social stigmas.
The One Mile Challenge helps raise awareness of mental health & funds that support our free programs for guardians & families.
WHO: Open to the public — everyone is encouraged to join!
WHEN: September (Suicide Awareness Month)
WHERE: Anywhere
When you join the One Mile Challenge, you register as an individual, join an existing team, or start a new team, and then choose to participate with no kit (so ALL your registration fees are a donation), the Essential Kit, or the Elite Kit.
