Guardian Revival Hosts 5k in Carmel to Honor Military, Veterans, and First Responders
Combining a festive race-day atmosphere with a meaningful cause, the Guardian Revival 5K in Carmel, N.Y., invites participants of all ages and abilities to come out, have fun, and show their support for the military, veterans, and first responders.

CARMEL, N.Y. — Guardian Revival invites those in the Hudson Valley community to lace up and take part in the first annual Guardian Revival 5K on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Carmel. N.Y., a community race honoring our guardians — the military service members, veterans, and first responders who live their lives in service to others.
The 5K race in Carmel, NY, includes a timed 5K Run/Walk, a Kids ½ Mile Fun Run, and a virtual 5K option, making it accessible to all fitness levels and supporters, no matter where they’re located.
“Too many of the guardians who show up for us every day silently struggle with the invisible wounds of service,” said Alex Othmer, Co-Founder and President of the Board of Directors of Guardian Revival. “This is more than a race - it’s a chance for our community to step up and step out to say, ‘We see you, we appreciate you, and we’re here for you.’”
Adding to the excitement of race day, the Guardian Revival 5K includes a team competition that invites fire, police, EMS, military units, businesses, gyms, clubs, families, and community groups to form teams of any size.
Trophies will be awarded for:
Fastest Team (based on the combined finish times of top five runners)
Largest Department Team (fire, police, EMS, or military)
Largest Community Team (business, gym, running club, or other group)
Individual medals will be presented to top male and female finishers across age categories (Under 19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+), along with special recognition for the Fastest Veteran and Fastest First Responder. All Kids Fun Run participants will receive their own mini medals.
Scenic Course and Race Details
The Guardian Revival 5K will start and finish at the Paladin Center, located at 39 Seminary Hill Rd, Carmel Hamlet, NY 10512, with a scenic out-and-back 3.1-mile course along Lake Gleneida on the Putnam Trailway, featuring a challenging uphill finish.
Participants who register before May 1, 2026, will receive an official Guardian Revival 5K t-shirt, and all runners — in-person or virtual — will get exclusive Guardian Revival swag.
