Poughkeepsie, NY - April 30, 2026 - Marshall+Sterling, in partnership with Guardian Revival’s Boots & Paws program, supported the awarding of a companion dog to a local veteran and first responder, marking the program’s fourth placement this year and reflecting Marshall+Sterling’s broader Impact+ commitment to strengthening health and well-being across the communities it serves.

Putnam County Guardian Dog Park Dedication
Guardian Revival, Putnam County, and the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Vet2Vet Program are proud to announce the official dedication of the Putnam County Guardian Dog Park, located in the Upper Park of the Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park in Carmel, NY. The dedication honors military, veterans, first responders & K9 Handler Captain Max Kalkstein.
Putnam creates Suicide and Overdose Fatality Review Team
In response to the opioid crisis, Putnam officials have created a Suicide and Overdose Fatality Review Team — a multi-disciplinary group designed to conduct in-depth reviews of select local deaths in an effort to better understand and prevent future tragedies. The team’s leaders include the county’s Director of Mental Health Paul Tang, Dual Recovery Coordinator Lauren Johnson, and Director of the Child Advocacy Center Marla Behler, along with Shanna Siegel of the Putnam County Department of Health and Megan Castellano of Guardian Homefront.

Aaron Leonard Appointed Chief Executive Officer for Guardian Revival
Aaron Leonard replaces Alex Othmer as Chief Executive Officer at Guardian Revival. Leonard retired as Lieutenant Colonel after more than 27 years in the US Army and worked for Sierra Club Military Outdoors before leading Guardian Revival’s Another Summit program.

Harckham Convenes Suicide Prevention Round Table
Our Homefront Executive Program Director, Megan Castellano, participated in a Suicide Prevention Roundtable organized by Senator Pete Harckham. “The mental health crisis in our communities is a pressing issue that requires a multi-faceted approach,” said Harckham.
Therapy Dogs Visit Local Schools
The Webutuck Central School District shared photos and an update about our therapy dog visits to several district schools, providing both students & staff with the opportunity to learn more about therapy dogs as well as enjoy interacting with them.
