Dwyer Vet2Vet of Putnam Equine Experience

Discover the power of experiential learning — with horses. In partnership with The Equus Effect (TEE), Dwyer Vet2Vet of Putnam is offering this immersive equine experience for veterans designed to help participants build self-awareness, manage emotions, and develop healthier relationships.

FINESSE VS. FORCE | RESPONSE VS. REACTION | CAPACITY VS. CONTROL

Horses are naturally sensitive to human emotions and intentions, making them incredible partners in this journey. Using ground-based horsemanship skills, we guide you through a hands-on experience to develop non-verbal communication skills, emotional agility, and tools to stay grounded in high-stress situations.

  • Self-awareness & self-management: Discover how to manage triggers and difficult emotions with body-based practices & techniques.

  • Healthy relationships: Build authentic connections by learning how to set boundaries without anger. Foster trust through clear, grounded communication.

  • Non-verbal communication: Improve your ability to communicate through body language and intention.

  • Emotional agility: Understand the messages behind your emotions and cultivate the ability to respond, not react, under pressure.

No previous experience with horses is required.

Benefits

  • Learn how to manage stress and emotions in personal and professional life.

  • Gain tools for better decision-making and clearer thinking.

  • Improve sleep and emotional well-being.

  • Strengthen relationships at home and work.

Horses are incredibly attuned to what’s happening inside of us — they respond to our energy, helping us cultivate self-management and resilience. Their reactions are immediate, obvious, and non-judgmental, offering a unique opportunity to practice new skills and receive real-time feedback.

The Equus Effect

The Equus Effect (TEE) offers experiential learning with horses that provides practical, body-based tools for nervous system regulation and emotional agility.

Their program is built on Somatic Experiencing® principles and natural horsemanship techniques, creating an opportunity to address stress, trauma, and relationship challenges from the inside out.
