Backpacking 101

A night under the stars away from the chaos of the modern world is special, so we invite you to join us for a beginner friendly backpacking trip in Harriman State Park.

Backpacking 101 is an entry level adventure for all where you will have the opportunity to learn new skills, build new connections and make new memories with your fellow veterans and first responders. Over the course of the weekend, you will learn what to bring, how to pack, how to set up camp, water purification, backcountry cooking, basic navigation and more!

This will be a two-day, one-night 5 to 10-mile backpacking trip in Harriman State Park. Established in the early 20th century, this 47,500 acre park has multiple public transportation access points from NYC.
