You are welcome at our writing workshop whether you have lots of ideas or zero! Join us to discover, create, and express freely in whatever format & style you’d like, in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Instructor Dominika Wrozynski has taught creative writing and literature for 22 years and welcomes veterans into a safe and welcoming space to explore reading & writing.
Backpacking 101
Join us for a beginner friendly backpacking trip in Harriman State Park where you will learn new skills, build new connections and make new memories with your fellow veterans and first responders.

GR 5K Run/Walk
We’re bringing the community together for something new: the Guardian Revival 5K. Whether you run or walk, come with the family or form a team with your department, this event is about honoring the guardians who serve our communities every day. We’re encouraging personal bests and friendly rivalry (especially across departments and organizations) with awards for those who rise above the rest.

Join us in celebrating National Trails Day with a trail cleanup at the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve just outside of Cold Spring, NY.

We’re welcoming you & your family back to the ballpark this summer to enjoy Hudson Valley Renegades baseball games at their home in Heritage Financial Park. As the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Renegades provide local baseball fans with great games. This Guardian Homefront event is for family members & their guardians (kids welcome!).

Enjoy a picnic and a live performance at the renowned Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF). We’ll be watching, As You Like It. Enjoy Shakespeare’s bucolic romantic comedy against the backdrop of the Hudson River valley in this celebration of love, identity, and transformation. Enjoy this open-air production and indulge in a pre-show picnic on the grounds as you enjoy a couples-only date night at no cost. Learn the skills to recognize and assist a peer, helping promote recovery and resilience. This course is designed to help participants develop a clear and practical understanding of mental health as it relates to effective peer support. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of distress, respond appropriately within their role, and connect individuals to professional and community resources when needed.

Join us for a walk in the woods for the purpose of finding wildflowers this spring!

Wappingers Creek Water Derby
Join us as spectators to enjoy watching paddlers charge down Wappingers Creek at the 51st Water Derby! The annual water derby is an 8 mile canoe and kayak race down the scenic Wappingers Creek. Hosted by the Veterans Sportsmens Association in partnership with the Aquatic Explorers Scuba Club.

Chester Coffee for Veterans & First Responders
Coffee & Conversation for Veterans & First Responders is a monthly drop-in gathering hosted at the Chester Public Library. Held on the first Tuesday of each month from 1:00–2:00 PM, this relaxed coffee hour offers veterans and first responders a space to connect, share stories, and build community with others who understand the experience of service. Coffee and light refreshments are provided.

Our First Line peer gathering is for Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue, EMS, Dispatchers, Corrections, and Federal Agents. These gatherings are an open forum and offer an opportunity to listen, learn, and share what's on your mind.
Cold Spring to Beacon
Join us for a challenging day hike from Cold Spring to Beacon through the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve.

Join Putnam Vet2Vet and Guardian Revival’s Another Summit program for our new Putnam Nature Series — a free monthly outing designed specifically for veterans and their family members to connect, unwind, and build community.

Vets Morning Joe
Join fellow Veterans for a morning coffee & casual chat. We’ll buy your first cup to start the day off right! Meet other Veterans in your community for a friendly gathering. This event will happen monthly and will rotate diners in the community.
Vietnam Veterans Open Mic
March 29th is Vietnam Veterans Day. Please join us as we commemorate this special day with an Open Mic Event
Whether you would like to speak, sing, or observe, please join us in the hall at the Veterans Memorial Building in Beacon. The Encore Jam Band will be playing music from the era. Please register if you are a Vietnam Veteran or the family member of a Vietnam Veteran and would like a few minutes at the microphone to share your perspective, thoughts, or reflections.
Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to listen and share camaraderie.
