Couples Picnic & Play in the Park

Enjoy a picnic and a live performance at the renowned Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) as they put on As You Like It.

Experience an open-air production and indulge in a pre-show picnic on the grounds as you enjoy a couples-only date night, compliments of Guardian Homefront and the Joseph P. Dwyer Vet2Vet Program of Putnam.

“All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players”

All the world’s a stage as imagination takes the spotlight in this exuberant, music-filled romp. Rosalind and her cousin Celia adopt new identities and seek refuge in the Forest of Arden, where exiles become adventurers, friendships bloom into romances, and wit collides with whimsy. Enjoy Shakespeare’s bucolic romantic comedy against the backdrop of the Hudson River valley in this celebration of love, identity, and transformation.

About the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF)

“Founded in 1987, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) is a critically acclaimed (The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal), professional, non-profit theater company based in Garrison, NY, one-hour north of Manhattan.

The Festival has established a reputation for lucid, engaging, and highly inventive productions staged under an iconic, open-air Theater Tent overlooking the Hudson River.

Rooted in the landscape of the Hudson Valley, with the plays of William Shakespeare as our touchstone, HVSF engages the widest possible audience in a theatrical celebration of our shared humanity.”

2026 is the Hudson Valley Shakespeare’s historic first season in our brand-new permanent home, the Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center.

“Hudson Valley Shakespeare’s new theater is designed to immerse audiences and actors in the rich landscape of the Hudson Valley. The architecture weaves in elements of the natural environment to create a unique indoor-outdoor setting for the company’s open-air productions and to offer an unparalleled theater experience.” - Jeanne Gang, Studio Gang Founding Partner (architecture firm)

Guardian Revival is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that improves the mental health & well-being of military, veterans, and first responders — our guardians — and their families, at no cost to them.

Homefront

Support & resources for military & first responder families

Guardian Homefront focuses on the family and provides experiences, education, and support for spouses, partners, and children of veterans, active duty military, and first responders.

YOU ARE NEVER ALONE

We are here to foster resilience, support health & wellness, and promote community to ensure that no family member feels alone in their journey.

  • Empathize | We understand the unique experience of the family environment around a guardian

  • Educate | Support & training about health & wellness — for yourself, your guardian, and your family

  • Engage | Fun experiences for quality time & building connection as couples, families, and a community

Each event is designed for a designated group: often the whole family, but we also know how valuable it is to make time for couples to connect and for individuals (partners, spouses, adult children) to nurture their own needs.

And for everything we organize, we cover the logistics & the costs. We hope you’ll join us soon!

Dwyer Vet2Vet of Putnam

We provide events, information, and resources for veterans, with a focus on connection.

The PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Project (Vet2Vet) of Putnam County is administered by Guardian Revival. Each community's Dwyer Program is tailored to the unique needs of the veterans in its community, making it matter, one veteran at a time.
