Volunteer Outdoor Leader Training
Interested in giving back to your community by leading therapeutic outdoor adventures?
Another Summit is looking for volunteers to join our team and help us serve the guardian community by leading therapeutic outdoor adventures. Through our 2-part training course, you’ll learn the necessary skills to plan and lead single-day outings, and join a team of avid outdoor enthusiasts. Over the course of two weekends, you’ll learn vital skills and information such as:
Leave No Trace
Wilderness First Aid
Planning
Leadership & Judgement
Risk Management
Group Management
Emergency Management
Our first weekend will focus on essential planning skills and cover basic information that outdoor leaders need to know to lead trips. The second weekend will be a 16 hour Wilderness First Aid certification course. Once you’ve completed both weekend sessions, you’ll be certified as an Another Summit Outdoor Leader.

Another Summit
Another Summit organizes and leads outdoor adventure activities — such as walking, hiking, backpacking, and paddling — in the Hudson Valley Region of New York & across the Northeast.
We welcome guardians of all ages and ability levels, including those with accessibility needs, and we work to facilitate access throughout the Hudson Valley and NYC area.
Our outdoor adventures range from beginner to advanced difficulty levels and are led by certified outdoor leaders. Another Summit’s difficulty rating system considers multiple factors, including elevation, terrain, and frequency of rests.
