First Fridays Nature Series for Veterans

Come enjoy more time outdoors! We welcome everyone, whether you’re new to nature or an avid adventurer.

Join Dwyer Vet2Vet of Putnam County and Guardian Revival’s Another Summit program for our Putnam Nature Series — a free monthly outing designed specifically for veterans and their family members to connect, unwind, and build community.

On the 1st Friday of the month, we’ll gather at a different Putnam County park for a relaxed outdoor experience. Whether it’s a walk, a conversation by the water, or simply time together in nature, each outing is a chance to share stories, make new connections, and strengthen your sense of belonging — all while enjoying the beauty & restorative power of the outdoors.

For this event, we’ll enjoy (and provide) a 1-mile walk around tranquil Little Stony Point. The Little Stony Point Loop begins at the Washburn Trailhead, where a parking lot is available, and leads you into Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve. This trail offers stunning views as it closely follows the shoreline. While exploring the cliffs, you'll discover an abandoned mine shaft hidden deep beneath the surface.
