Cold Spring to Beacon
Join us for a challenging day hike from Cold Spring to Beacon through the scenic Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve.
This roughly 8-mile hike is the perfect opportunity to stretch your legs after a long winter with a solid day hike. This route stretches across the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve between Cold Spring and Beacon, NY, and is public transit accessible at both ends from NYC via the Metro-North Railroad.
Over the course of this hike, we'll have several steep climbs up and down as we cross over multiple peaks and ridges, including Bull Hill, Breakneck Ridge, and Mount Beacon — with the option to stop and climb up the Mount Beacon Fire Tower for the best view in the whole Lower Hudson Valley. The hike will be challenging, but is more than worth it for the views and the company!
